Who We are
A four-piece band blending surf, funk and rock emerging from the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, The Offshore aim to bring the vintage rock band set-up back into to the spotlight with tunes that represent the care-free culture of young Australians.
Inspired by the high energy and diverse, organic sound of music produced by bands including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles and the Foo Fighters, The Offshore takes a similar approach to the song writing process in hopes of capturing a familiar kind of magic.
“The music generally comes from experimental jams at rehearsal. Someone will share an idea they’ve been working on and everyone will feel the groove and put their pieces to it. The whole process is driven by the vibe and feeling of the music”.
Each of the band members; Samuel Bonnici, Luke Bonnici, Corey Atkin and Keagan Callen bring their own list of personal influences to the mix, creating a familiar, yet contemporary sound.
The members formed solid friendships when meeting in early childhood and have shared many highs and lows together. These experiences have led to a musical synergy that forms the foundation of the bands vibe and culture.
Their first live performance had them awarded ‘Anthem Entertainment’s Band of the Week’ following an electric show at the Village Green Hotel.
The Offshore aim to spread their music culture with the world and are looking to play to larger audiences at larger venues, with the dream of making their way on the festival circuit. They are also writing new material, with the second set of songs taking on a deeper, more coloured sound.
“We really think we represent the modern day Australian Culture. Our music is great for a day at the beach, sipping on beers or just listening to at home”.
